Internet of Things
AIM’s Internet of Things (IoT) industry group provides a forum for members to understand and help shape the rapidly changing landscape of the interconnected world of products, services, and, information. The group enables participants to lay the foundation for a smarter, more efficient world using automatic identification & data capture solutions. It is comprised of AIM member companies with an interest in influencing the direction and definition of the Internet of Things, especially as it relates to barcode, RFID and other AIDC technologies. 2018 Chairperson | Jeanne Duckett - Manager - Printing Research & Development | Avery Dennison
RAIN,
the newest addition to AIM, was founded in early 2014 to promote global
awareness, education and initiatives designed to accelerate UHF RFID. As an industry alliance (much like the
Bluetooth SIG or Wi-Fi Alliance), RAIN members and their UHF RFID expertise
lend strength to AIM’s commitment to AIDC innovation and technology. Through both prominent leadership and substantial growth of membership in RFID companies worldwide, RAIN is uniquely positioned to deliver initiatives that accelerate growth and adoption in business and consumer applications worldwide to improve business opportunities and, ultimately, peoples’ lives. The committee is divided into three primary work areas: AIDC Technology which coordinates activities among technical groups internal and external to AIM North America; Communications which overseas member recruitment, messaging, and marketing of the committee to the AIM North America and non-AIM North America communities; and Legislative, Implementation & Outreach which establishes relationships with like-minded organizations and businesses in the pursuit of successful implementations of the FDA UDI & SNI Initiatives.
