Voice Systems: A Natural Wonder
Most warehouse activities -- from put-away to
picking -- can be considered "unnatural" acts because they rely on
artificial representations of each item and action in the form of written
information or coded data in the form of bar codes or RFID tags. And these
methods require an employee to focus on something other than the task at hand:
reading a pick sheet, scanning an item or key entering data.
Voice systems, on the other hand, provide a
completely natural and more productive interface between the employee, the host
computer system and the tasks to be performed.
