The Business and Technical Challenge
Before the information application based on iData mobile computers was deployed, the three business systems of Best Express, namely express shipment, express delivery and WMS management, run on different terminal devices. As a result, the business deployment cost is high. During system upgrade, the devices must be taken back and upgraded one by one, which consumes much time and energy and affects regular work of relevant departments.
To realize unified information-based business deployment, Best Express urgently needs to solve the following issues:
1. The three business systems, used to run independently on different devices, need to be integrated to improve the management efficiency and reduce business costs.
2. In the past, Best Express experienced the following issues with an old mobile computer: the laser head was unstable and usually could not properly identify barcodes; the system response was slow; the device often got stuck and broke down; data upload was slow; the screen was fragile and the touch screen was not sensitive enough; the battery was not durable and often could not be charged. Therefore, the customer urgently needed to deploy new high-performance and high-reliability mobile computers to improve work efficiency.
In 2013, Best Express started to cooperate with iData to improve its logistics and distribution capabilities in an all-around manner through innovative application of iData mobile computer technology.
